Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., posted a record fundraising haul in Q1 of more than $10 million, he said in a press release this week. Serving in his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, Emmer has become one of President Donald Trump’s most vocal supporters.
“We are doing everything we can to grow our House Republican Majority and ensure President Trump has the support he needs from Congress for all four years of his term,” said Emmer.
According to a press release from the Republican lawmaker, his $10 million haul “is the most ever raised by a Whip in a single quarter.” A spokesperson for the majority whip said that the $10 million figure comes from a combination of fundraising mechanisms that include Emmer’s congressional campaign account, joint fundraising committees, and his leadership PAC.
“I want to thank the thousands of grassroots donors from Minnesota and across the country who have provided us with a record-breaking start to the 2026 election cycle,” said Emmer. “Now, let’s keep the momentum going.”
Further, Emmer’s campaign announced he has raised $2 million for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), its candidates, and its members. The campaign arm of Republicans in the U.S. House, the NRCC is responsible for raising funds, recruiting candidates, and supporting the campaigns of GOP congressional candidates.
A spokesperson for Emmer told Alpha News that the majority whip has “contributed to over 40 candidates so far” and the $2 million raised for the NRCC was a part of the $10 million total.
Prior to serving as majority whip, Emmer led the NRCC as its chairman from 2019 to 2023. During that time, Republicans won the House of Representatives in 2022 after Democrats had controlled the chamber for the previous four years. In 2023, Emmer was elected by his colleagues to serve as majority whip.
Representing Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District, Emmer has served in the U.S. House since 2015. The district includes Carver, Wright, Benton, and Sherburne counties, as well as most of Anoka County and a portion of Stearns County. Emmer has won all of his elections for the U.S. House by wide margins.
In 2024, the majority whip won reelection by more than 25 points.
