I made an executive decision to declare national and local media this week’s Alpha News bias contest winner despite some excellent suggestions from our readers. I did so because the bias was so egregious, so blatant and so pervasive that it serves as a gold standard of what is wrong with our corrupt, dishonest media.
Over the last several weeks we’ve learned that far from disassociating himself from Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, Minnesota Democrat Keith Ellison has had repeated contacts with him, including lunch and other meetings. The outrage from the Fourth Estate was . . . . nonexistent.
When Ellison denied being with Farrakhan, the Washington Post gave him 4 Pinocchios. I’d just call him a flat out liar. We at Alpha News searched but could find not a single instance of Minnesota media calling him out for the lies. Remember, they want you to take them seriously. Don’t.
It’s worth noting that Ellison is the Deputy Chair of DNC. There has been no media follow up with any Minnesota Democrats or any DNC endorsed candidates. The double standard and bias is so obvious as to be blinding.
Put this in another context: pretend Jason Lewis or Tom Emmer met repeatedly with David Duke. Now imagine the media and political reaction. Neither would survive the first twenty-four hours of the news cycle.
Here Ellison is getting the classic pass: no coverage or one story with a very neutral tone, never to be reported on again. Minnesota media was especially disgraceful but given that they are simply an arm of the DFL, this should come as no surprise.
Ellison, amazingly enough, was not the only Democrat to meet the repulsive Farrakhan. Many others did as well as discussed in this story.
Only through new media and the internet’s ability to access them was there any coverage. The legacy media is dying and their blackout on this story shows why they richly deserve that fate.
