U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi on Wednesday announced the arrest of several people in connection to assaults on federal officers during recent violent anti-ICE protests in Minnesota.
In a post on X, Bondi said she was on the ground in Minneapolis, where she said federal agents have arrested 16 rioters today for allegedly assaulting and impeding federal law enforcement, and said she expects more arrests to follow.

Among those arrested was Nasra Ahmed, who appeared at a press conference last week alongside Democratic lawmakers and claimed she was assaulted, kidnapped, and called a racial slur by ICE.
“I’m proud to say that I survived ICE,” she said. “Many people are saying, including my family and friends, that I will go down in history.”
In a moment that has since gone viral, she went on to say that “being Somali isn’t just eating bananas and rice.” Instead, she said “it’s like a cultural fusion, it’s kind of like the bananas and rice.”

The Department of Homeland Security said Ahmed was arrested for spitting on an officer.
Bondi didn’t specify from which incidents the arrests stemmed, but there have already been several federal arrests in connection to violent riots in Minneapolis and surrounding areas, including north Minneapolis on Jan. 14, and south Minneapolis on Jan. 24. A federal officer was also injured in Southeast Minneapolis on Sunday night after intervening when a hotel was being trashed by protesters for hours, while Minneapolis police failed to respond in a timely manner.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: NOTHING will stop President Trump and this Department of Justice from enforcing the law,” Bondi said.
