A Hennepin County Jail detention deputy was assaulted by an inmate Sunday and suffered several injuries requiring hospital treatment, sources told Alpha News.

The deputy, who has not been publicly named at this point, suffered a concussion, a broken nose and other injuries but is expected to recover.

The alleged suspect, Dellione Pierre Robison, 24, has been in custody at Hennepin County Jail since January on charges in at least three other cases involving illegal gun possession, fleeing from police in a motor vehicle, and two cases involving first-degree damage to property.

He also has a probable cause charge of fourth-degree assault pending.

Robison has a history of convictions on violent crimes including first-degree burglary, first-degree aggravated robbery, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Department of Corrections records indicate Robison was last released from prison in about November 2024 following a conviction on attempted receiving stolen property.

“We are currently investigating an assault on a detention deputy by an inmate that happened on Sunday, March 23. The detention deputy was treated for injuries and will be ok. We are submitting for charges against the inmate. We have no more information at this time,” the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office told Alpha News.
