Minnesota will have a former comedian and a former talk show host in Congress in January.

Conservative radio talk show host and author Jason Lewis (R) has defeated Angie Craig (DFL) in Congressional District 2.  The two candidates worked to win John Kline’s long-held seat; both battling primary challengers before the main event: facing off against each other.

The race was contentious, with the DFL utilizing years’ worth of Lewis radio show audio recording in attempt to discredit him and paint him as a “mini-Trump,” going so far to be accused by author and economist John Lott as slandering Lewis in television ads.
