1:30 a.m. – Donald Trump delivered a victory speech from Mar-a-Lago, saying: “Every citizen, I will fight for you, for your family and your future. Every single day I’ll be fighting for you.”

12:42 a.m. – The Minnesota GOP’s watch party reacted to the news that Pennsylvania had been called for Donald Trump.

11:56 p.m. – Minnesota House GOP leader Lisa Demuth says her party is looking into “multiple irregularities” on Secretary of State’s website tonight.

11:48 p.m. – Democrat Brad Tabke claims the results posted on the Secretary of State’s website “are currently incomplete.” With 100% reporting, they showed Tabke losing to Republican Aaron Paul.

11:20 p.m. – Alpha News checked in with Trump voters at the Minnesota GOP’s watch party.

11 p.m. – In the battle for control of the Minnesota House of Representatives, Republican challengers have won two swing districts. In House District 18A, Erica Schwartz has defeated incumbent Jeff Brand by more than 3 percent after all precincts were reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. The southern Minnesota district spans St. Peter, North Mankato and portions of Mankato. Schwartz and her husband own a grocery business in Nicollet.

In the west metro suburb of Shakopee, Republican challenger Aaron Paul defeated DFL incumbent Brad Tabke by just more than 2 percent. Paul, a police officer, garnered 8,281 votes to Tabke’s 7,921 in a House District 54A race that Republicans were targeting for a metro area pickup.

The DFL holds a 70-64 majority over Republicans in the state house. Republicans need to pick up a net of 4 seats to take control of the legislature and end the DFL “trifecta.”

10:06 p.m. – Faisal Deri, a Somali voter, talked about the historic endorsement for Trump on Saturday, saying it wasn’t difficult to get Trump votes this election.

9:15 p.m. – Congressman Pete Stauber and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer made virtual appearances at the Minnesota GOP’s election night watch party.

8:07 p.m. – RNC Committeeman AK Kamara discussed election integrity issues and first-time Trump voters in Minnesota with Alpha News reporter Liz Collin.

7:46 p.m. GOP congressional candidate Joe Teirab, who is running against Democrat Angie Craig, says the economy and immigration are driving people to the polls. He also discussed the drama surrounding a third-party candidate in his race.

7:12 p.m. – Senior Trump advisor Tayler Rahm says he’s optimistic as results begin to pour in across the nation.

6:06 p.m. – Minnesota GOP Chair David Hann says putting Walz on the ticket didn’t do Democrats any favors, citing high GOP enthusiasm in Minnesota.

5:23 p.m. – Liz Collin and Jon Justice report from the Minnesota GOP’s watch party at the Radisson Blu in Bloomington.

3:15 p.m. – Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz tells reporters: “We’re feeling great.”

2:59 p.m. – Trump says he’s feeling “very confident” after voting this morning in Florida.

12:45 p.m. – Vashawn, 30, tells Alpha News that he voted for the first time today. He’s friends with the Westbury family in Lindstrom, Minn., who account for about a third of the people from Minnesota who face prosecution related to Jan. 6.

He said it was paramount to vote against “political prisoners, weaponization of the government and tyranny.”

11:50 a.m. – The City of Lakeville reports that it is aware of an issue with a tabulator at Precinct 7.

Others reported to Alpha News that a tabulator is down in Golden Valley.

11 a.m. – Alpha News spoke with voters outside St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Wayzata.

Some voters also raised concerns about politically-charged signs outside the polling location.

8:39 a.m. – Trump: “I need you to deliver your vote no matter how long it takes. STAY IN LINE!”

7 a.m. – The polls are now open in Minnesota. As of Tuesday morning, local election officials had accepted 1,271,636 absentee and mail ballots for the Nov. 5, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office.

Local election officials have distributed 1,441,898 absentee and mail ballots in Minnesota since voting began on Sept. 20.

About 128,000 ballots have not yet been returned. All ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

Secretary of State Steve Simon advised voters to return their ballots in-person to their local election office as soon as possible to ensure their vote is counted. Voters can also choose to vote at their local polling place instead of returning their absentee ballot.

All polling places are open until 8 p.m. As long as voters are in line by 8 p.m., they can vote. In Minnesota, people can register to vote on Election Day.
