To honor the spirit of independence—and independent journalism—we wanted to highlight some of the courageous Minnesotans who have shared their stories on the Liz Collin Reports podcast.
Since 2022, and after nearly 300 episodes, Liz Collin Reports has been a platform for people to tell their stories, share their perspectives, and discuss important topics in the news—including those that are often ignored by mainstream Minnesota media.
Here are just some of the episodes on two of the most important topics in the news this past year: fraud and the growing threat of communism and socialism in Minnesota.
On fraud…

“Rick” started looking up some of the addresses in his neighborhood and discovered they were associated with transportation service companies, a food prep company, and an adult home care center.

“We get called Nazis, we get called a racist, we get called like white supremacists, which is funny. So a lot of times they’re not using their brains in how they’re attacking us,” said Jenny Liang.

Marjorie Simon, a lifelong Democrat, has had enough with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and creeping communism in the Democratic Party.
“They’ve ruined the party,” Marjorie Simon said of the Democratic Socialists of America.
“When Aisha Chughtai became the council member in Minneapolis, I noticed a disaster.”
Simon told Collin she’s noticed quite a change in the last few years. As a resident of Minneapolis, Simon talked about how she’s seen the Democratic Socialists of America take over the DFL.
