Louis Farrakhan, Bill Clinton & Minnesota Media Oblivion

The great singer Aretha Franklin was buried last week in a funeral that, fittingly, was more a celebration than a dirge. If anyone deserved such a send off, it was this talented woman.

Yet during that funeral a remarkable photo was taken of dignitaries in the front row: Nation of Islam’s Louis Farrakhan, Tawana Brawley hoaxer and race baiter Al Sharpton, grifter and race hustler Jesse Jackson and disgraced former President Bill Clinton. It was shocking to see a former president with the vile Farrakhan and Minnesota media wasted no time in covering the outrage widely and at length.

I’m joking of course: not one outlet ran the photo, nor was there any comment by our Brave Daniel Pearls. On Twitter I posted the photo and specifically tagged media people from the Star Tribune, FOX 9 News, the Pioneer Press, MPR and other outlets. Not one responded because there was no defense in their deliberate, Leftist, political choice to ignore the event.

I tire of saying “Imagine if  . . .” and I’m sure readers do as well. But here we are again because local media bias isn’t an occasional thing, a one off event, rather it is a constant, an ongoing phenomenon, like cosmic background radiation from the Big Bang. It’s always there, always measurable and in amounts far greater than that trace fingerprint of an event long ago.

The thing about local media bias is that one can easily find other examples of worse, more extreme, more blatant bias nationally and so it was with this picture of the Four Horsemen of the Something. ABC and MSNBC ran the photo but cropped out Louis Farrakhan! This is per se propaganda because it reflects a deliberate choice to keep their audience ignorant of what really happened. President Clinton appearing alongside Farrakhan was news and these dishonest platforms made sure to keep it from their viewers. Remember this the next time they whine about President Trump being mean to them.

Speaking of mean, Wednesday I was the guest of Lee Michaels on AM 980 The Mission, where we discussed media bias in Minnesota. Should you be so inclined, you can listen here to me giving local media the Trump treatment.
