Leftwing Minnesota Nurses Association has released its latest “legislative scorecard” where it attacked legislators for failing to provide driver licenses to illegal immigrants and praising legislators for taxing healthcare.
The leftwing politics of the Minnesota Nurses Association has been a source of frustration for legislators and followers of healthcare issues because it is becoming a highly partisan organization that tackles issues that often have nothing to do with healthcare.
No Republican received over 60% in the Minnesota House or Senate, and nearly all Democrats received scores of over 80% with a large amount of Democrats receiving 100%.
The scorecard listed the Provider Tax, which is often called the “Sick Tax” was “one of the most important accomplishments of 2019”.
Minnesota charged an additional 2% on the majority of Medical services in Minnesota. The tax was typically passed down to the patient, increasing the already rising healthcare costs. The tax was set to expire, but the Republican Senate Caucus compromised to extend the tax permanently but slightly lower it to 1.8%.
The scorecard does not list any explanation for supporting legislation to issue driver licenses to illegal immigrants.
