While voters in Minnesota were trying to look up their polling place for the Presidential Primary, the official Minnesota Secretary of State website was redirecting the voters to a far-left political action committee that has endorsed Elizabeth Warren, Ilhan Omar, and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
What is even more disturbing is that voters who were redirected by the Minnesota Secretary of State had to give their name and email address to the far-left group to find out the polling place
Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, Republican Lead on the House Subcommittee on Elections called for an investigation on how this happened saying “Redirecting Minnesota voters to a partisan organization that endorses candidates and collects voter information shows an astonishing lack of judgment by the Secretary of State’s office,” Nash said. “While I appreciate the preparations Secretary Simon has made to ensure voters can find their polling place in the event the state website is overloaded, this organization is an inappropriate source for our elections office to be utilizing. Secretary Simon should immediately stop redirecting voters to that website, and investigate how this site was selected.”
Democrat Secretary of State Steve Simon admitted that voters were being redirected to the far left website issuing a statement that said: “In an urgent attempt to restore service, a staff person diverged from our emergency plan, in a serious lapse of judgment, links to a partisan website that contained polling place information.”
Simon also canceled his scheduled appearance at the legislature and has not named the staffer or if the staffer will be punished.
