Nikki Haley: Biden wants to ‘impose more control’ over America

Did Nikki Haley just fire 2024’s opening shot?

With ongoing internecine battles between populists loyal to outgoing President Donald Trump and more traditional conservatives, Nikki Haley remains something of an outsider — perhaps even a bridge between the two Republican factions.

The 48-year-old served two successful years as UN Ambassador in the Trump administration, gave a stellar RNC speech this summer, and was an exceptional South Carolina governor for six years. As the first female executive in Palmetto State history, Haley recruited nearly 100,000 new jobs and over $20 billion in capital investment.

Haley has long been rumored as a 2024 presidential frontrunner, and Wednesday she took on the incoming Biden administration with a strong editorial

Published at Fox News, she claimed the 46th president’s goal “will be to impose more control over America’s culture and economy.” Haley’s overarching theme was that today’s Democrats push a dangerous agenda that “undermines America’s guiding principles.”

“This is not the Democratic Party of old,” she wrote. “This is the furthest left Democratic Party in history. That’s a sobering reality that should concern every American. Freedom and equal opportunity are out. Censorship and intolerance are in.”

Haley believes the left’s goal is to impose more control over America’s culture and economy, recently tweeting that 2020 is when socialism went mainstream

“It wasn’t that long ago when sincere liberal leaders stood for free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of thought and tolerance of different views,” she claimed. “Those days are gone.”

Haley then discussed cancel culture, explaining how in colleges, corporations, media, and even family homes, “liberal elites want to silence anyone who does not toe the far-left line.”

“What they really want is to massively expand government and use its immense power to remake American culture however they want,” she wrote.

Only a few years ago, Haley says, Americans of all political stripes believed economic freedom was essential to create brighter futures for all people. She said Democrats have since abandoned that truth.

“Their economic agenda is based on the idea of control. It means more government power, more corporate bailouts, more bailouts for dysfunctional state governments, more lockdowns and less freedom,” she scribed. “Ultimately, liberal elites think they’re smarter than the rest of us — that they have the brains and the birthright to build a better economy for all.”

Haley noted socialism has failed everywhere it’s been tried:

“When capitalism gives way to socialism, the result is always less opportunity, more poverty and more suffering … In every case, socialism pushes people down, while capitalism lifts us all up.”

The good news is an overwhelming majority of Americans still believe in this country, per Haley.

“We know America isn’t racist. We know free speech matters. We know capitalism can lift up the poor and unleash a new era of prosperity,” the former governor concluded. “We will stand up for preserving that freedom for ourselves and future generations. That is the job of the loyal opposition. America is worth it.”

If Haley is to be the next conservative hope — she began by launching a PAC Wednesday, aimed at the 2022 midterms and “principled conservatives who will stand up for the ideas our country was founded on” — she clearly came out strong against her potential future opponents the same day the current president hit a nadir.
