Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley endorsed Republican Kendall Qualls Wednesday in his bid to unseat Rep. Dean Phillips in Minnesota’s Third Congressional District.
Haley, also a former governor of South Carolina, said Qualls “embodies the American dream” in her endorsement.
“He shows us what is possible through hard work, service to country, and a commitment to faith and family,” Ambassador Haley said. “I’m proud to endorse him because I believe his experience in business and the military, and his strong Minnesota values, make him the right person to lead in Washington, D.C.”
Qualls was also recently endorsed by Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina and the Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police.
“Ambassador Haley was an exceptional governor who revitalized the South Carolina economy, notably in the manufacturing sector, and then went on to represent our country with honor and strength in the United Nations,” said Qualls. “More than that, Ambassador Haley and I both recognize that the narrative of America is not defined by bad acts or exceptions to the rule. Rather, we appreciate the inherent greatness of America and how our values are a force for good – at home, and abroad.”
