Bjorn Bolton Iverson is accused of sexually assaulting eight female victims including a seventeen-year-old girl over a several year span and has been charged with several counts of criminal sexual conduct and possessing child porn, and more charges are likely, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
A report published this week said that Iverson used drugs and alcohol to prey on the women between 2012 and 2019 and used the lure of working in the music or modeling industry to entice some of them.
Iverson, 36, was originally charged on some of the thirteen felony counts in September and was ordered conditionally released by Judge Jeannice M. Reding, paying just $20,000 cash bail following his first court appearance on Oct. 1. Ten more charges were added in the case last week, and the report quoted the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office saying that more charges are “likely” as the investigation continues.
Iverson made another court appearance on Jan. 10 following the added charges, and prosecutors asked Judge Peter Cahill to set a new bail at $1 million, saying, “There is nothing stopping this individual … [from using] social media and mood-altering substances to victimize women.”
Judge Cahill gave Iverson the option to pay an additional $20,000 cash bail on top of the $20,000 he has already paid, or two other options of $500,000 bail with no conditions or $300,000 with conditions. Cahill gave Iverson until Jan. 17 to comply without ordering him into custody.
Iverson has been charged in Hennepin County with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and nine counts of possession of pornography involving minors.
Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines call for a minimum term of 144 months in prison if convicted on the most serious counts and statute outlines a maximum sentence of up to 30 years. The sentencing guidelines almost always allow for sentences on multiple counts to be served concurrently. Only in rare cases are sentences order to be served consecutively.
Iverson is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Jan. 21.
