As many as 40 vehicles were damaged in a Christmas Day pileup on Interstate 94 near Ashby, Minnesota, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow reports that the crash occurred at approximately 11:12 a.m. and resulted in a three-hour closure of the eastbound lanes. Grabow says 35-40 vehicles were damaged in the incident and another 30-40 were involved but sustained no damage. No life-threatening injuries were reported.
Under investigation. The freeway was closed at EB exit77 & opened at 2:30pm. The State Patrol was assisted by Grant Co SO, OTCSO, Ashby Fire, Dalton Fire, Ringdahl Amb, Ashby Amb & several other 1st Responders. This incident remains under investigation.

“The multi vehicle crash occurred after two vehicles crashed and were blocking the roadway. As a result, several other vehicles crashed behind them,” a Department of Public Safety incident report says. That report indicates that a male was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
