Protesters gathered at Target in Minneapolis to argue against their policy allowing transgender customers to use the bathroom according to the gender they identify with, rather than their biological sex at birth.
Protesters explained they are concerned for the safety of children, explaining that sexual predators will take advantage of this policy in order to harm others. Target Chief Executive Brian Cornell explained Target is standing by its decision, but stated that they will be adding more family restrooms for those upset by the new policy. Opponents claim Target’s policy should have the smaller transgender community use the unisex family restrooms, rather than the general public.
