Republican Doug Wardlow announced a campaign for Minnesota attorney general Wednesday, setting the stage for a possible rematch between him and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

Wardlow’s announcement video places a strong emphasis on law and order and criticizes Ellison for doing “nothing while lawless rioters looted and burned our cities right here in Minnesota.”

“Now he chases down small business owners trying to make a living but he can’t take action against those who destroy our cities and make our neighborhoods unsafe,” Wardlow says in the video.

He also attacks Ellison for his past support of the “domestic terror organization Antifa.”

“He has callously destroyed livelihoods and trampled our constitutional rights by filing lawsuits to fine and shut down small businesses that don’t comply with our governor’s tyrannical lockdown orders,” Wardlow continues.

Ellison defeated Wardlow by four points in 2018 despite allegations of domestic abuse by ex-girlfriend Karen Monahan.

Wardlow previously served one term in the Minnesota House and worked for the Christian nonprofit Alliance Defending Freedom. He’s currently an attorney for MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
