RNC has hired two individuals ahead of the 2020 cycle here to focus on Minnesota. President Trump came within 2% of winning Minnesota in 2016 and has publicly said that he believes he can win in the North Star State.
The hires include former Alpha News writer Preya Samsundar as the State Communications Director for Minnesota and Iowa, and then Stephanie Alexander, who will serve as the Regional Political Director for the Midwest – which includes Minnesota.
This field team is being paid for by the RNC the staff will assist every Republican candidate up and down the ticket – which means they will be working hard for candidates looking to flip congressional seats, working to make sure 2020 is Sen. Tina Smith’s last year in office. Meanwhile, they will be laying the groundwork to assist President Trump to carry Minnesota.
In a joint statement Wednesday, Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale and RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said they are planning a voter-turnout operation and a communications team that will be “the largest ever undertaken by a presidential campaign.”
