Florida Senator Marco Rubio announced he is suspending his campaign after Donald Trump took all 99 Florida delegates in yesterday’s “mini super Tuesday.” Â Meanwhile in Ohio, however, Governor John Kasich held his own state and won its 66 delegates, bringing the Republican Party closer to a contested convention. Â Any candidate needs 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination.
Trump went on to win in North Carolina and Illinois, and at 2 AM was still in a virtual tie with Texas Senator Ted Cruz in Missouri.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton won in Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, and Florida, with the New York Times reporting at 1:32 in the morning that Missouri was still too close to call.
