A video of Becker Public Schools teacher Dr. Heather Abrahamson having a heated argument with a student about the recent death of Renee Good has gone viral, now having been viewed over 3.3 million times.
While discussing current events in her social studies class, she was filmed arguing with students who had a different viewpoint on Good’s death and then apparently insulting one of them. The 45-second video was posted by Libs of TikTok.
Good was shot and killed Jan. 7 in Minneapolis during an altercation with federal immigration agents. Since the incident, videos of what happened have circulated on social media with many debating how the event unfolded and what transpired that morning.

The video obtained by Libs of TikTok shows Abrahamson insisting that the federal immigration agent used unnecessary force in the incident. She can be heard saying, “His move should have been to go like this if he was really afraid. Your job as a police officer is to de-escalate.”
An unidentified student in the video countered Abrahamson’s point and said that the agent “had a split second” to decide his next step. After several back-and-forth statements where Abrahamson appeared agitated and made broad hand gestures, she stated she wasn’t going to argue with the student and dropped her hands.
The student replied, “You’re arguing right now,” as another said, “Just because you’re yelling doesn’t mean you’re winning.”
Abrahamson said, “Watch the video. He was not in danger.” Then she followed up by appearing to insult one of the students, “Yeah, just because you’re alive doesn’t mean you are intelligent.”
One of the students can then be heard on camera asking, “You just gonna take that, man? She just called you stupid.”
Minnesota State Rep. Walter Hudson, R-Albertville, also weighed in to support the students.
“We need more of this,” he said. “If teachers are going to continue violating public trust to indoctrinate rather than teach, and if school districts are going to continue protecting them by not fulfilling data requests, students are entirely justified in exposing the madness.”
Abrahamson has taught for 32 years in the school district and has a doctorate in social studies curriculum from the University of Minnesota, the New York Post reported.
The outlet noted that in 2022, a special school board meeting was packed for a presentation by the Minnesota Child Protection League in response to an LGBT group that was allowed to present.
At the meeting, Abrahamson, who was described as an adviser with the Gender and Sexuality Alliance, voiced her opinion.
“I think that it’s against everything that a school is supposed to do,” she said. “Human rights don’t have two sides so bringing in another side just doesn’t make sense to me.”
Alpha News reached out to Becker Public Schools Superintendent Jeremy Schmidt and his assistant for comment but did not receive a response.
