Sheila Qualls joins the Alpha News team

She was an award-winning journalist and editor before leaving the workforce to raise and homeschool her five children.

Sheila Qualls has accepted a position with Alpha News as a regular contributor to the news organization.

“Sheila brings a wealth of experience to our growing organization. She was an award-winning journalist and editor before leaving the workforce to raise and homeschool her five children,” said Anthony Gockowski, editor in chief of Alpha News.

“The last few election cycles, it’s become more obvious the media want to tell us what to think. I want nothing but the facts, so I can draw my own conclusions. That’s why I am thrilled to be working with the team at Alpha News. They are one of the few publications that’s concerned with telling the truth, regardless of their personal opinions. The news shouldn’t influence us by leaning left or right. It should be true,” Sheila said.

Prior to joining Alpha News, Sheila was a Christian Marriage and Family columnist at Patheos.com and a personal coach. She speaks nationally on issues involving faith and family. In addition to blogging at Patheos, her writings have been published in the Christian Post, The Upper Room, the MOPS Blog, Flown and Grown and various other sites.

Sheila was an Army “brat,” an Army wife and now an Army mom. She holds a Master’s Degree in Communication and Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Journalism.

She’s been married to her husband Kendall for 36 years. They will be launching a podcast at Alpha News later this month.
