Tomorrow, dozens of left-wing organizations will protest President Donald Trump’s planned military parade at more than 1,800 locations across the United States. Protest organizers call the gatherings “No Kings—a national peaceful mobilization to reject authoritarianism and stand united against fear.”
According to “No Kings” organizers, their protests are “a direct response to Donald Trump’s self-aggrandizing $100 million military parade and birthday celebration, an event funded by taxpayers while millions are told there’s no money for Social Security, SNAP, Medicaid, or public schools.”
The parade opposed by the “No Kings” group is an upcoming military parade put together by President Donald Trump to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, founded on June 14, 1775 as the Continental Army. Tomorrow, June 14, the parade will commence in Washington, D.C, which also happens to be President Trump’s birthday.
Despite the honorable goal of the parade, the “No Kings” group opposes the festivities, saying the event is a “costly, wasteful, and un-American birthday parade in Washington.”
In Minnesota, over three dozen “No Kings” protests are scheduled to take place across the Twin Cities area and Greater Minnesota. One of the larger protests in Minnesota will begin at St. Paul College and include a march to the Minnesota State Capitol. Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison will be headlining the event.
U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna grilled Gov. Walz for his planned appearance at the rally during a congressional hearing Thursday, saying on social media that the “No Kings” protest is “being funded by the Chinese Progressive Association,” a “pro-Maoist” organization.
Marxists are behind these manufactured, definitely not organic, protests against ICE enforcing our immigration laws and securing our borders. https://t.co/3PZ2Fmht3I

She then sent a letter to President Trump, “requesting an immediate freeze on all federal funds authorized to the AFL-CIO, an organization that has received over $72M and is directly tied to the upcoming ‘No Kings’ protest this Saturday.”

While the “No Kings” group informs attendees it is committed to “nonviolent action” and expects “all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation,” governors in Texas, South Carolina, and Utah have begun organizing security plans to deal with any violence that may develop at “No Kings” protests.
Alpha News reached out to the Minnesota State Patrol and the Minnesota National Guard to ask about security plans for the “No Kings” protests in the North Star State.
A spokesperson for the State Patrol said, “The Minnesota State Patrol does not disclose security plans. We are aware of the event and prepared to provide public safety throughout the state and will respond accordingly should any events take place.”
Meanwhile, the National Guard told Alpha News “there has been no request for our members to assist in any missions outside our normal training and readiness operations.”
Major organizations who are assembling the “No Kings” protests include the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Black Voters Matter, Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood, and Indivisible.
Funded by George Soros, Indivisible is one of the most prominent anti-Trump groups that has sprung up in the last eight years.
“The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump,” says the webpage for the Twin Cities “No Kings” event. “It belongs to us. We’re showing up everywhere he isn’t—to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.”
President Trump was recently asked about the upcoming protests and said “I don’t feel like a king, I have to go through hell to get stuff approved.” The president went on to say that a king would never have to call up the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader in order to get things accomplished.
