Tyler Janke, a state employee who publicly supported the July assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pa., has so far kept his job without facing disciplinary action.

Janke—who commented “too bad they weren’t a better shot” following the attempt on Trump’s life—remains employed with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and continues to receive his state salary with no recorded reprimands.

Alpha News obtained records through a data request revealing that Janke, who holds the position of Natural Resources Program Consultant with an annual salary of $85,232, has no disciplinary actions on his file.

The DNR initially condemned Janke’s comments as “reprehensible” and pledged to “take all appropriate steps in alignment with state law and policy.” However, no disciplinary action has been taken yet, and Janke remains in his position without any consequences.

Alpha News reached out to the state of Minnesota for comment on the status of the investigation. In response, the state confirmed that the investigation into Janke is still ongoing, saying:

“The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources can confirm that there is an investigation against the employee referenced in your email. The investigation is ongoing. The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act limits the agency’s ability to provide a comment in response to your questions, and any data related to the nature of the investigation is private.”

Former President Trump survived the attempt with a graze to his ear, though the attack claimed the life of rallygoer Corey Comperatore and injured two others.
