Travelers react to mask mandate extension

The federal mandate for airplanes and other modes of public transportation was set to expire March 18 but was extended an additional month by the Biden administration.

This week the U.S. Senate passed a resolution that would end the mask mandate on public transportation, including airplanes.

The resolution passed 57-40 with eight Democrats also saying yes. Sen. Mitt Romney was the one Republican to vote against the measure.

The federal mandate for airplanes and other modes of public transportation was set to expire March 18 but was extended an additional month by the Biden administration.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is creating new guidelines to follow for when masks should be worn on public transportation.
