Minneapolis police confirmed that they responded to a report of a robbery at the church around 8:09 a.m. and located two men who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to preliminary information, the two men were leaving a St. Joan of Arc church building when seven to eight males exited two gray vehicles and approached them. The suspects pushed one of the men to the ground and robbed him. He was injured when he struck the pavement.
The second victim was hurt while ducking to avoid an object that was thrown at him, police said. The suspects then fled the area in two vehicles.
The victims were evaluated at the scene before arranging private transportation to the hospital.
Police said officers canvassed and saturated the surrounding area in an effort to locate the suspect vehicles and those involved. MPD is still investigating and no arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
