A group of pro-life Catholics say they were praying outside a St. Paul abortion clinic Friday afternoon when a man came “barreling down the street” with his windows down and began shouting at the group.
Video of the incident shows the man driving into a snowbank near a sidewalk where the group was praying.
“Abortion is a right, we won’t give up the fight,” the man repeatedly screamed at the group.
One of the pro-life demonstrators, Diana, said she began recording because she could hear the man screaming from down the street.
“He began getting out of his car until he noticed my phone videotaping him,” she said.
She said the group prays outside the abortion clinic every Friday and has seen an increase in hostile behavior since the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“Now that they have this awful stuff going on in St. Paul to codify abortion, it’s worse,” she said.
The Minnesota DFL is fast-tracking a bill through the Minnesota Legislature that would protect a woman’s “fundamental right” to abort her baby for any reason up to the moment of birth.
Diana said she reported the incident to St. Paul police, who confirmed they received two calls and attempted to contact Diana.
“All I want is a police report in case this idiot comes back again, then they know about it,” she said.
Pro-life organizations across the country were targeted in the wake of the Supreme Court’s historic decision. Nearly 30 churches and more than 50 pregnancy resource centers were vandalized last year with pro-abortion rhetoric.
At least four crisis pregnancy centers in Minnesota were vandalized.
Amid these attacks, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison issued a “consumer alert” about crisis pregnancy centers, citing a lone report written by abortion advocates.
