It’s long been mused on the political Right that our global adversaries echo talking points from the American Left. This toxic rhetoric goes back to the Vietnam era, the Cold War, during the George W. Bush years, and continues even with a Democrat in the White House.
How can the country unite and achieve greatness when we are led by men and women who regressively obsess over concocted terms like “systemic racism”?
”It is one thing for crackpot academics and racialized newspapers to indoctrinate students with anti-American trash,” Michael Goodwin wrote in Sunday’s New York Post. “It is scandalously awful when the president of the United States joins the amen chorus.”
After praying for “the right verdict” in Derek Chauvin’s trial, President Joe Biden rushed to the podium last week, beginning 10 minutes of remarks by saying, “It was a murder in the full light of day, and it ripped the blinders off for the whole world to see the systemic racism that is a stain on our nation’s soul; the knee on the neck of justice for Black Americans … the exhaustion that Black and brown Americans experience every single day.”
For someone with his own checkered racial history, Biden constantly raising race is amusing.
Instead of emphasizing how our justice system upheld the rule of law in Minneapolis, liberal elites like Biden proved they prefer relying on sweeping generalizations, never cease their grievance, and criticize America’s alleged mistreatment of minorities.
Biden was introduced by Vice President Kamala Harris, a feckless bully who never misses a chance to bloviate myths. The vice president ranted that “America has a long history of systemic racism. Black Americans and Black men in particular have been treated throughout the course of our history as less than human.”
Harris ended with the secular progressive “we still have work to do” cliché. Chauvin was on trial, you irresponsible buffoon, not America.
This undermining of American cohesion is not isolated.
Speaking at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network a week prior, U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield claimed, “I have seen for myself how the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.”
How does a leftist ambassador spewing corrosive nonsense help anyone?
But our octogenarian speaker of the House probably took the cake for bigotry. Blabbing at a Congressional Black Caucus event after the verdict, Nancy Pelosi said, “Thank you, George Floyd, for sacrificing your life for justice. For being there to call out to your mom, how heartbreaking was that. And because of you, your name will always be synonymous with justice.”
Even a CNN writer called it “a poorly constructed line,” explaining that “Pelosi’s comment seems to bizarrely suggest that Floyd had some choice in the situation, when in actuality he had zero say or control over whether a police stop would end in his death.”
Our enemies aren’t dumb and, as usual, picked up on this destructive self-loathing.
When Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Beijing representatives last month in Alaska, China’s foreign minister spent 20 minutes claiming the U.S. has no legitimacy to criticize his communist regime. Yang Jiechi essentially said we should clean up our house before lecturing the world. Where do you think he learned this anti-American balderdash?
To have demented views from Biden, Harris and Thomas-Greenfield — such as America, not China, is riddled with endemic racism — echoed by Communist Politburo flaks is deeply offensive. This, as the CCP continues to imprison Uyghurs, enslave the non-Han population in Xinjiang, repress Hongkongers, and cover up viruses that kill 3 million people around the globe.
What other nation has provided similar opportunities for minorities than the United States? And if we are so awful to “people of color,” why are so many sacrificing everything to cross our border today to build a better life?
Maybe LeBron James and his armed security cannot understand that most perpetrators of violent crimes against American blacks are other black people.
Maybe Ibram Kendi, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and BLM activists cannot fathom that restricting police will lead to more violence, especially in poor communities.
Maybe Biden and Harris — with their disastrous first 100 days — should understand their words and actions have deep consequences.
