A Ramsey gun store was burglarized in the early morning hours on Sunday and the suspects got away with several handguns.
Total Defense Gun Shop and Range posted on their Facebook page Sunday evening and said that the burglary occurred early Sunday morning March 29.

The post started out saying that “this has been one of the hardest couple of weeks for small businesses nationwide,” and conveyed empathy for other businesses that are also taking a toll by saying “this is more than just US.”
The post said that at approximately 5 a.m., two burglars broke in and stole handguns out of their rental cabinets, and also stated that the burglars “were extremely sloppy and will hopefully be caught soon.”
The business, which is located on 167th Avenue Northwest in the city of Ramsey, MN, said, “there is nothing worse than knowing that there are now stolen firearms on the street, and we hope and pray that they are recovered before they can be used in any crimes.”
The business thanked the Ramsey Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in the post and credited their professionalism.
Just after 10 a.m. on Sunday, police in Andover responded on a report of a U-Haul truck that was on fire in the area of 168th Lane Northwest. Recorded police dispatch audio mentioned a possible connection to the gun shop burglary, but confirmation on whether the events were related was not immediately available from the Ramsey Police Department or Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
