Congressman Tom Emmer, a Republican who represents Minnesota’s Sixth District and serves as majority whip in the U.S. House of Representatives, spoke about the rise of Somali gang violence, socialism and communism in America, and some of the failures of the Walz administration in a new episode of Liz Collin Reports.

The Somali gang problem
Emmer and Collin spoke about how Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher recently laid out the facts about how there have been more than 100 shootings in the Twin Cities in the past couple of years and 14 murders that have been linked to Somali gangs.
Despite stating the facts, Sheriff Fletcher has faced plenty of backlash from Somali leaders and the mainstream media. Congressman Emmer experienced similar backlash when he brought up the problem last summer.

“If you call out crime and you identify, let’s say it’s an Irish-American gang, let’s say it’s an Italian gang, the Sicilians, this one is Somali. All of a sudden, because we’ve identified the people who are actually doing it by their ethnicity, we’re racist? There is nothing racist about calling out a criminal and pointing out what’s going on. I think, when’s it going to stop?” Emmer said.
“Why should our kids be going to a public school scared for their physical wellbeing because of Somali gangs?” he asked.
Somali fraud in Minnesota
Emmer also spoke with Collin about ongoing fraud in Minnesota, particularly given recent developments involving more than a few Minnesota residents who are still questioning what they consider to be out in the open fraud in their neighborhoods and communities.
“I would hope that there is a grand jury out there building a much bigger case on all of the fraud. It is endemic to the Walz administration. If you’ve got nine billion in fraud out there, whether it’s daycare fraud, whether it’s Medicaid fraud, I mean, all the housing fraud, you’ve got all of this different fraud. I hope they’re building a case on all of it, not just focusing on the one $250 million pandemic fraud case called Feeding Our Future.”
He also focused on the lack of accountability. “The other piece that I am very frustrated with … who was watching this? I mean, you had employees of the state of Minnesota who presumably were assigned responsibility to oversee these funds as they were being directed and issued and why was this allowed to continue?” he said. “Somebody in the administration needs to be held accountable and I’m not sure exactly who that is, but when I look at it, I’ve got Tim Walz and Keith Ellison at the highest levels of our government.”
Emmer addressed his role in forming the Congressional Somali Caucus with then Congressman Keith Ellison in 2015 and the questions that still surround some remarks he made in St. Cloud when residents were calling for a moratorium on Somali immigrants.
In looking back, Emmer said things changed when he realized that Ellison “was not being sincere” and started “bringing this terror organization CAIR in.”
“They have no interest in assimilating and becoming Americans. As soon as that happened, you can look at the record. We actually went back to the track that we were originally on,” Emmer clarified.
“German, Irish, Italian, Somali — we’ll celebrate your culture and we’ll allow you to celebrate your culture but we are not creating a new Somalia. This is the United States of America. You come here to be an American. And you know what? I stand by what I said. If you do not want to be an American, you do not want to assimilate and become an American and be proud of this great country, then get the hell out of here. Go back to where you came from. You don’t belong here,” Emmer said.
Reaction to pardon of child rapist by Walz
Emmer also spoke about how Walz and Ellison pardoned a child sex offender—and how the Trump administration deported him despite their pardon.
In talking about accountability, Emmer said, “I gotta blame all of us. We need to hold these people accountable. Do we really want an executive, a chief executive in the state of Minnesota who’s going to side with an admitted, admitted rapist, started raping someone in his family when she was 10 years old and initially suggested that that’s a cultural thing?”
Emmer said the sex offender has “no business being on the street, let alone in this country. I thank God for the Trump administration ushering him out of here.”
“Then Tim Walz goes even a step farther and starts complaining about the Trump administration deporting this guy,” Emmer continued. “I mean, this is not a leader. Tim Walz has never been a leader. I wouldn’t follow the guy through a buffet line. He’s not a smart human being.”
