EXCLUSIVE: Iranian American reveals the tragedies, ‘brainwashing’ she faced under the Islamic regime

"With this regime, you can't negotiate with them. They're zombies," said Shiva Mix, a Minnesotan and Iranian American. "There's no sound mind. All they know is killing."

Shiva Mix, a proud Iranian American who has lived in Minnesota for more than 25 years, spoke with Liz Collin on her podcast about the recent developments in Iran.

Mix believes Americans have no idea what it’s really like to live under the Islamic regime.

“What I can tell you is that I was two and a half years old when the revolution happened. So when I was five years old and went to kindergarten, all they’re trying to do is that they want you to hate America,” Mix explained.

“America is the big Satan, Israel is the little Satan. I was really good at drawing, so I’m sorry—I have to confess that I made a lot of Israeli and American flags at a really young age, and I burned it. It was part of the ceremonies, and I really thought those two countries were our enemies,” she said.

In speaking about life in a constant state of fear in Iran, Mix recalled that, “there were a lot of public executions to make sure that no one talks about freedom, no one wants to even think about whether I want to choose my own dress, I don’t want to cover my hair, none of those things. They told us this is Islam, you need to follow it even if you’re not Muslim.”

“They definitely make sure that a lot of people are addicted and that’s by design. Heroin is so inexpensive. They want to use all the resources for their own agenda, which is fighting the West, fighting America, to make sure they can wipe Israel out of the map. They’re a bunch of zombies and I feel bad because they were innocent babies at some point,” she said.

“We Iranian people, we really want to get rid of this regime for years and years. But we can’t. We get out and we get killed,” she commented.

Brutal attack on their own people

“It was on the 8th and 9th of January that Iranian people got out and asked for our Prince Reza Pahlavi to come and help us. And they were out there trying to get rid of the regime and ask him to come and take care of the transition so they can vote for themselves and pick the government and the type of the government and the new leader and they got killed. Few people got out that night and they said it was like ‘Call of Duty.’ IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) people were on top of the building shooting at people, young kids with family, everybody got killed,” Mix explained.

This was one of the reasons that Mix spoke out on her hopes for a brighter future: “We definitely need to make sure that this regime is gone so we can use the resources for people, for humanity, not for missiles and hurting Iranian people.”

Waiting game

However, Mix also spoke about how things remain uncertain at the moment.

“With this regime, you can’t negotiate with them. They’re zombies. You can’t really talk to them. There’s no sound mind. All they know is killing and they actually think they’re doing something good for their God. So you can’t even blame them. They’re brainwashed. They’re gone. So don’t talk to zombies. Come and talk to us,” she said.

Mix is one of many Iranians who are hoping for change and supporting the Iranian Prosperity Project.

“Think about it, when a war happens, like in Syria or another country, you see a lot of people getting out of the borders. You see immigration, migration, all these people are trying to flee. Nobody’s getting out of Iran. Everybody’s waiting. Everybody’s waiting for the right moment because more zombies are getting killed now and people can get out,” Mix said.

She also spoke about how the Iranian regime shut off access to the internet—in what Mix described as a way to prevent Iranians from speaking out.

“This regime doesn’t want our people to talk to the world. And that’s why for the last 50-something days, there’s no internet. There’s no internet because, and that’s why I want to be the voice of Iranian people. I can’t talk to my family. Sometimes they can call me, but it’s kind of a one-way street. They’re going to find ways to contact me, maybe every few weeks just to tell me, we’re alive,” Mix said.
