
Vance Luther Boelter has been identified by Minnesota public safety officials as a suspect in two political assassination incidents that took place in the early hours of June 14.
Boelter, 57, has been identified as a suspect in the assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman. Hortman and her husband Mark were both shot and killed inside their home.

Boelter is also a suspect in a separate assassination attempt involving Minnesota Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, who were each shot multiple times. However, they have survived.

Superintendent Drew Evans, of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), described Boelter as a “57-year-old white male, who is six feet one inches tall, 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.”
In seeking help from the public in locating Boelter, Evans confirmed that Boelter is “a person of interest” in the investigation.

Boelter was described as last being seen wearing a brown cowboy hat and “should be considered armed and dangerous,” according to Superintendent Evans.
