A midwestern nonprofit law firm is looking for clients who believe they can mount a constitutional claim against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s COVID-19 related executive orders.
The Upper Midwest Law Center said in a recent press release that it’s looking for Minnesotans who say Walz’s orders have negatively impacted their “exercise of speech, assembly, governmental petition or religious freedoms.” They also say they’d like to represent business owners who have experienced the “forced closure or forfeiture of business or personal property.”

The Upper Midwest Law Center says its mission “is to initiate pro-freedom litigation to protect against government overreach, special interest agendas and public union corruption and abuses.” It also litigates all of its cases “without charge to clients.”
Recently, the firm has also represented a logging company targeted by eco-terrorism after “criminals tore out wiring, stole keys, cut hydraulic lines causing oil to drain into the ground, [and] poured sand, glue and water,” into equipment operated by a family owned logging company working for St. Louis County. If successful, the Upper Midwest Law Center’s suit will earn the logging company $100,000 in compensation for damages.
