After a July 4 fireworks washout one year ago in many Minnesota communities, the 48-hour forecast looks a little more promising this time around, as dozens of communities across Minnesota are preparing to celebrate America’s 249th birthday.

Alpha News has prepared a comprehensive list of fireworks shows for our audience across the state.

While most cities listed below will hold Independence Day fireworks celebrations on the Fourth, others have theirs scheduled a few days before or later in the month.

Maplewood is now holding its “Light It Up” fireworks event in September, after city officials have said their rescheduled event last year proved popular with community members.

The state’s largest city, Minneapolis, will host its popular “Red, White and Boom!” fireworks display for the second consecutive year after a five-year hiatus.

A number of public safety agencies held a press conference on Wednesday to communicate to the public their joint effort to ensure the event is safe, since Minneapolis has experienced a wave of unruly activity and shootings the last few years.

Across the river, the skies in St. Paul will light up once again on July 4, thanks to the St. Paul Saints. The baseball team will hold a “Rock the 4th” event at CHS Field, which will feature musical acts and end with fireworks at dusk. The privately-funded endeavor comes after the city itself quit sponsoring fireworks displays a handful of years ago.

Check links for each of the fireworks displays below as some have contingency dates posted if the weather forecast turns:
