MN Representatives: Gun Ownership – “Good for Me, But Not for Thee…”

On June 22, 2016, Congressional Democrats held a 25 hour “sit-in” in an attempt to force the House of Representatives to vote on gun control bills.  Minnesota Representatives Keith EllisonRick Nolan and Betty McCollum, joined group on the House Floor.

Representative Ellison joined the protest after receiving a note from a staffer saying his mom had called and told him to join the protest:

Despite the fact that the Orlando shooter had passed all the background checks and had been investigated by the FBI in the past, Ellison also took the opportunity to argue for the gun control legislation that would expand background checks and remove Second Amendment and Due Process Rights to anyone on the “no-fly list.”

However, as reported by Fox News Insider, a 2013 study by USA Today shows that at least 26 of the democrats who participated in the sit-in are gun owners, including Minnesota Reps. Keith Ellison and Rick Nolan.
