Republican Senator Roger Chamberlain receives prestigious award

Senator Roger Chamberlain is Legislator of the Year by Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts

Minnesota State Senator Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) was recognized by Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD) at the organization’s annual meeting.

The Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD) represents the soil and water conservation districts (SWCDs) of Minnesota. MASWCD is a nonprofit organization which exists to provide leadership and a common voice for Minnesota’s soil and water conservation districts and to maintain a positive, results-oriented relationship with rule making agencies, partners and legislators; expanding education opportunities for the districts so they may carry out effective conservation programs.

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for local soil and water boards,” said Sen. Chamberlain. “They have an important and challenging mission, and aligning the goals of their local members with governors’ administrations and state legislators is not always easy. I thank MASWCD for this honor, and look forward to continuing our strong partnership.”

“Senator Chamberlain has been given the legislator of the year award by the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts for his long standing support of the work done by all of Minnesota’s local soil and water conservation districts and his leadership and recognition of the future resource needs for SWCDs,” said Sheila Vanney, assistant director of the Minnesota Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts.
