Republicans Endorse Jason Rarick in State Senate Special Election

Rarick is a lifelong citizen of Pine City, a self-employed electrician who has a long active history with the St. Paul Electrical Union. As a state representative, he was able to earn both union and business group endorsements.

Republican Delegated Endorsed State Representative Jason Rarick in the special election to replace outgoing Senator Tony Lourey. Lourey got appointed to be commissioner of the Department of Human Services creating a special election on February 5th.

The district represents Carlon, Kanabec, Pine, and St. Louis counties include the cities of Pine City, Hinckley, Askov, Finlayson, Mora, and surrounding areas.

At the endorsing convention, Rarick promised to fund transportation projects without a gas tax increase, protect the right to life, protect gun rights, and more funding for rural broadband.

Republicans are optimistic about this race since Donald Trump won this district in 2016 and Pete Stauber won the district in 2018.
