Vice President Mike Pence made an aggressive appeal to moderate Democrats during a campaign stop in Duluth, Minnesota Friday.

The vice president said he is seeing “people come our way everyday” while speaking to a crowd at the Clure Public Marine Terminal.

“I want to say to all the Democrats here today and across Minnesota, join us. If you believe in freedom, if you believe in a boundless American future built on timeless American ideals, join us and reelect President Donald Trump for four more years,” said Pence.

He then revealed that six Democratic mayors from northern Minnesota are endorsing President Donald Trump for reelection, including former Duluth Mayor Gary Doty, Two Harbors Mayor Chris Swanson, Virginia Mayor Larry Cuffe, Babbitt Mayor Andrea Zupancich, Chisholm Mayor John Champa, and Eveleth Mayor Robert Vlaisavljevich.

“As Greater Minnesota mayors from Democratic cities on the Iron Range of Minnesota, we write today to formally endorse the reelection of President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence,” states a letter from the mayors released Friday.

“Lifelong politicians like Joe Biden are out of touch with the working class, out of touch with what the country needs, and out of touch with those of us here on the Iron Range and in small towns like ours across our nation,” the letter continues. “In this election, there is a lot at stake, but the biggest risk is our jobs, our economy, and our way of life. President Trump delivered the best economy in our nation’s history, and President Trump will deliver for us again.”

Vlaisavljevich spoke during the second night of the Republican National Convention, calling Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden “too weak” to “stand up to the radical left.”

Pence said he was “humbled” by the support and couldn’t wait to deliver the letter to the president.

“Men and women of Minnesota, it’s on. It’s time. I came here today to make sure we all understand the choice that we face,” he concluded his speech. “We’re going to make Minnesota more prosperous than ever before. We’re going to make Minnesota safer than ever before. With your support and with God’s help, we’re going to make America great again.”
