Republicans will endorse a candidate this weekend in the Third Congressional District, a seat that was occupied by the GOP for nearly 60 years until Rep. Dean Phillips unseated Erik Paulsen in 2018.

Candidates Tom Weiler and Mark Blaxill will compete for the support of delegates during the Third District GOP’s Saturday convention.

Adam Schwarze was previously running for the seat but was unable to attend a recent debate. Alpha News reached out to Schwarze to inquire about his status in the race but has not received a response.

Both Weiler and Blaxill recently joined Alpha News reporter Pafoua Yang to discuss their campaigns.
