Democratic Rep. Angie Craig’s leading Republican opponents, Tayler Rahm and Joe Teirab, will participate in a debate Thursday night in Prior Lake.

The debate is hosted by the Scott County GOP and will be livestreamed at 7 p.m. by Alpha News on Rumble.

Minnesota Rep. Walter Hudson, R-Albertville, will serve as moderator.

Craig was first elected to represent Minnesota’s Second Congressional District in 2018 after defeating Republican incumbent Jason Lewis. Prior to Craig’s election, the district was in GOP hands for nearly 20 years and is now considered the most competitive district in the state.

In 2022, more than $24 million was spent in the race between Craig and Republican Tyler Kistner, making it the most expensive congressional race in Minnesota history. Craig ended up defeating Kistner by about five points, expanding on her two-point victory in 2020.

As of January 2023, Craig had voted in line with President Joe Biden’s agenda 100% of the time, according to FiveThirtyEight.
