US veteran born in China explains how rise of socialists ‘might kill the Democrat Party’

Marx "had to invent a vehicle that's coated in sugar and rainbows" so that people would follow him and his ideas, said Allen Shen, a Republican candidate for Minnesota House in District 40B.

After sounding the alarm for years about communism and socialism in Minnesota, Allen Shen joined Liz Collin on her podcast.

Shen is currently running as a Republican candidate to represent District 40B in the Minnesota House. He’s also an Army veteran and someone who knows communism well, as he was born in China, and recently appeared in the Alpha News documentary “Minnesota Mao.”

After speaking at political events and classrooms across the state, Shen says he’s seen how people now seem ready to listen and heed the warning.

The DSA election playbook

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have won more than 30 primary elections this year. Those are local and national races, including congressional races.

Shen attributed the election wins to the fact that socialism is “a really easy thing to sell and people can easily fall for it.”

He explained how socialists “don’t like the Democrats” but “just use Democrats as a vehicle, as a platform for them to win like some deep blue seats because they know they will not win in a swing district, let alone a red district. They know they win in places like New York, Denver, Minneapolis. So they use that as a tactic to gain power. But eventually they might actually kill the Democrat Party.”

For Shen, socialism contradicts Biblical principles

In discussing his perspective on socialism and religion, Shen explained that “Karl Marx invented socialism or communism as a vehicle to lead people away from God and go toward Satan.”

Shen said Marx “had to invent a vehicle that’s coated in sugar and rainbows” so that people would follow him and his ideas.

For Shen, proof of that can be found in history: “That’s the essence of understanding what socialism is because that’s why you see every socialist, communist country, the first first thing they do after they get power is to get rid of the church. They ban God. They get rid of religion because they want the people to worship the leader as god.”

A chart comparing “Christianity” and “Mao’s Socialism” presented by Allen Shen, a Republican candidate for Minnesota House district 40B.

In speaking about socialism and communism in China, where Shen was born, he explained that “under Mao in China, he did many things, it’s pretty much like a copy, like a carbon copy of the Ten Commandments, only to worship the devil or worship Mao himself.”

“In Christianity, we say, ‘I am the Lord your God, you shall not have other gods before me.’ But under Mao, everyone’s required to worship Mao, you shall not have other idols except Mao,” Shen explained.

He also pointed out that, “In Christianity, we say, ‘You shall not take your Lord’s name in vain,’ but under Mao, if you take Mao’s name in vain, you would be severely punished. If you misspeak, if you don’t say his correct name … you would be punished.”

In yet another example, Shen said that “in Christianity, we say remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. So under Mao, everyone’s required to worship Mao in their homes and they build the altars for Mao and they read Mao’s little book, like they study the scriptures just like how we study the Bible.”

DSA protests and the connection to Cities Church

Shen also spoke with Collin about how the DSA strongly encourages protest and resistance, which Shen knows firsthand as a member of Cities Church in St. Paul.

In January, agitators barged into the church and disrupted the service. Dozens of people have been charged with federal crimes for the incident, but that hasn’t stopped ongoing protests outside the church every week since.

Shen has captured pictures and videos of protesters dressed in costumes and others who put sex toys on their vehicles.

“They’re an organized protest, they have an organization that’s well managed, it’s probably well-funded. I pretty much feel that there’s a boss behind it,” said Shen.

However, he also offered a broader perspective about the protests. “It’s not left-right, it’s not socialism versus free market. It’s actually between God and Satan.”

“If we keep strong Christian values, we can definitely prevent socialism from ever succeeding on this land,” he said.

Shen will be speaking about Maoism in Minnesota on Thursday, Aug. 6 at the Liberty Tea Party Patriots event at Green Haven Golf Course in Anoka. The event starts at 6 p.m. Attendees can pay $15 at the door for dinner.
