‘JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY’: Democrats Peggy Flanagan and Kristy Janigo appeared on podcast that issued vile posts

"I need some joy. Give me songs that are on your playlist for when the big beautiful obituary drops," says a social media post from The Politics Chicks.

Several Minnesota Democrats have appeared on a left-wing podcast that issued despicable social media posts that appear to be aimed directly at President Donald Trump.

Created in 2025, The Politics Chicks is a left-wing blog and podcast run by Christy Branham and Monica Healy. The pair describe themselves as “two middle-aged, white, suburban moms who happen to share an interest in politics and a love of humanity.”

Since launching their podcast, Branham and Healy have managed to land major guests on their show including Sen. Tina Smith, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, and several Minnesota state lawmakers. Additionally, the podcast has over 47,000 followers on Facebook.

Despite a self-professed “love of humanity,” The Politics Chicks’ Facebook page has left a trail of vile social media posts that appear to pointedly hope for the death of Trump.

“I used to want him to live long enough to face accountability and I thought that was coming under Jack Smith. Now I just want him gone. JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY!” says a July 3, 2026, post from The Politics Chicks’ Facebook page.

While Trump is not named in that social media post, the post appears to be a reference to the president given how it invokes Jack Smith. Smith, a former federal prosecutor, was appointed to investigate Trump in two highly-publicized cases.

Additionally, the post follows a trend on The Politics Chicks’ Facebook page in which Trump is often referred to as “he” or “him” rather than named outright in some posts.

On June 25, 2026, a Politics Chicks post said, “I need some joy. Give me songs that are on your playlist for when the big beautiful obituary drops.” The use of “big beautiful” appears to be a reference to the One Big Beautiful Bill, Trump’s signature piece of legislation.

“I feel like we need a new national holiday. Date TBD by his obituary, of course,” wrote The Politics Chicks in December of 2025. On May 20, 2026, The Politics Chicks wrote, “I don’t want to READ the obituary. I just want there to BE an obituary. Like right fucking now.”

As recently as Sept. 18, 2026, The Politics Chicks wrote on their Facebook page, saying, “I hate it when I wake up and he’s not dead yet.”

Another post from April 29, 2026, said “Fuck it. We’re already on every one of their damn lists & Monica assured me I can have the bottom bunk in the gulag so… 8647 8647 8647 8647 8647 8647 8647 8647 8647 8647 8647…”

The term “8647” has been interpreted as a call for the assassination of Trump, although others have claimed it is a call for Trump to be peacefully removed from office.

The Politics Chicks’ Facebook page does not identify whether Branham or Healy are the authors of the page’s posts. As of Tuesday morning, some of the most egregious posts from The Politics Chicks’ Facebook page have been deleted.

Additionally, Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell has been targeted by The Politics Chicks. On June 14, 2026, their page said, “May Mitch McConnell being admitted to the hospital be a harbinger of more of the same. Let the good times roll. And may this birthday be the last.”

McConnell, who is 84 years old, has recently been dealing with health problems that have required hospitalization. A June 27, 2026, post from The Politics Chicks says, “Hey, so is Mitch McConnell dead? Asking for the people with an extra bottle of champagne chilling.”

The posts were first uncovered by Renew Minnesota, a GOP-aligned political action committee.

Minnesota Democrats appeared on The Politics Chicks podcast this year

On July 15, 2026, The Politics Chicks released a podcast episode featuring Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, the DFL nominee for U.S. Senate. That episode was uploaded during Flanagan’s Senate campaign and after many of The Politics Chicks’ vile posts were issued.

During her appearance, Flanagan discussed her campaign and said she was “excited” to be on the show. Further, Branham said The Politics Chicks had endorsed Flanagan’s campaign, and then Flanagan said, “Thank you so much. I’m so honored to have your endorsement.”

Flanagan was running in the DFL primary for Senate against Rep. Angie Craig at the time of the endorsement. Flanagan won that primary and is now her party’s nominee.

Flanagan also told The Politics Chicks, “I’m so grateful for the work that you guys do, you know, all of the time to make politics fun, right, and accessible to people, and that’s what it’s all about, like, people deserve to have their voices heard, they deserve to feel like they can be part of this, and I think that’s what the two of you do all the time, so thank you.”

Flanagan is running for DFL Sen. Tina Smith’s seat in the Senate. Smith appeared on The Politics Chicks podcast in a June 25, 2026, episode.

Alpha News contacted Flanagan to ask if she knew about the posts before her appearance. She was also asked if she rejects the The Politics Chicks’ endorsement. However, Flanagan did not immediately respond to a media inquiry.

In addition to Flanagan and Smith, DFL state lawmakers and legislative candidates have appeared on the show including Sen. Zaynab Mohamed, Rep. Cedrick Frazier, Rep. Andy Smith, state House candidate Jason Heaser, and state Senate candidate Kristy Janigo.

Janigo is the DFL candidate for Minnesota Senate District 37, a toss-up seat held by retiring GOP Sen. Warren Limmer. District 37 includes almost all of Maple Grove and a few western Hennepin County cities such as Corcoran, Medina, Independence, and Maple Plain.

Janigo, who faces Republican Brady Hoag in the fall election, has appeared on The Politics Chicks podcast twice. Her first appearance on the show was released on June 23 and her second appearance was released just recently on Sept. 30.

That Sept. 30 episode, which only featured Branham and Janigo, discussed political attack ads aired against Janigo. During that episode, Branham referred to Janigo as a “friend” and said The Politics Chicks had endorsed Janigo’s bid for Senate.

Alpha News contacted Janigo for this story. She was asked if she knew about The Politics Chicks’ statements before appearing on the show. Janigo was also asked if she rejects The Politics Chicks’ endorsement. She did not immediately respond to a media inquiry.
