President Donald Trump ordered air strikes on Saturday morning that targeted a high-level ISIS terrorist in Somalia, the president announced in a post on Truth Social. The air strikes reportedly killed multiple ISIS terrorists and no civilians.

“These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies,” said President Trump. “The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians.”

The president added that the “Senior ISIS Attack Planner” targeted in Saturday’s strikes was targeted by the United States’ armed forces for years, “but Biden and his cronies wouldn’t act quickly enough to get the job done. I did! The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that ‘WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!'”

According to a statement from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, the air strikes were carried out by U.S. Africa Command in coordination with Somalia’s federal government.

“Our initial assessment is that multiple operatives were killed in the airstrikes and no civilians were harmed,” said Secretary Hegseth. “This action further degrades ISIS’s ability to plot and conduct terrorist attacks threatening U.S. citizens, our partners, and innocent civilians and sends a clear signal that the United States always stands ready to find and eliminate terrorists who threaten the United States and our allies, even as we conduct robust border-protection and many other operations under President Trump’s leadership.”

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who was born in Somalia before coming to the United States as a refugee in the 1990s, celebrated the military strike saying, “It’s my sincere hope that ISIS and Alshabab will be defeated and the people of Somalia will see an end to terrorism.”

U.S. Africa Command announced that it will provide more information about the air strikes “as appropriate.” However, the command noted that “specific details” regarding the coordinated attacks will not be released for security reasons.
