Leaving Islam for Christianity: One man’s message for Minnesotans about Democrats, Muslims

“The goal of Islam is to bind itself with leftism, with the Democratic Party," said Mohamad Faridi, a Christian minister and president of Iranian Christian International.

He once wanted to die for Allah, but courageously left Islam for Christianity—and now he’s working to save Muslims around the world.

Mohamad Faridi, a former Muslim and now a Christian minister, shared his journey and his message for Minnesotans with Liz Collin on her podcast.

While the United States is a country founded on religious freedom, Faridi said talking about the truth of Islam seems forbidden.

In speaking about his perspective on Islam, Faridi said, “There’s nothing divine about it, it’s just a political movement.”

Faridi explained how he was born in Iran “to a family that sacrificed their son for the sake of Islam, for the sake of defending and advancing the cause of Islam, which is jihad.”

Army training to reunite ‘our spirit with the spirit of jihad’

He also talked about how army service—“to become a jihadist”—was mandatory in Iran.

“You hear the terminology of IRGC, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. I was trained by them. I had three months of boot camp, but most of our practices as soldiers were religious. We were being programmed to be laying our life down for the greater cause for defending Islam,” Faridi said.

Faridi said the training was intended to serve a greater purpose: to reunite “our spirit with the spirit of martyrdom, with the spirit of jihad.”

A life-changing moment: hearing ‘the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ’

While Faridi was in the army, he had a friend who was medically exempt from military training.

“When I came back, I tried to get caught up with him, and he was a very religious Muslim before I left. And then when I came back there was something very strange about him,” Faridi said.

“There was such peace, he was so calm,” he added.

“After two hours of conversation, he shared the Gospel with me,” Faridi said.

“He told me that Jesus died for my sake, that I don’t need to die … He was nailed to a cross, he sacrificed His life for my sake … that’s the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life,” Faridi explained.

From the Christian ‘underground’ in Iran to Christian ministry in America

Christians face persecution in Iran, but Faridi soon became a part of an “underground” Christian church.

“I distributed Bibles, CDs, and other things and I was threatened many times,” he recalled.

However, Faridi had to make a life-altering decision: “go to the prison” or “get out of the prison of the Islamic regime of Iran, which is the whole country,” he said.

“So I left Iran, and miraculously, I ended up in America,” Faridi said.

Much like his own escape from Iran, Faridi spoke about what he calls another kind of “exodus,” which he said is “the tsunami of Muslims who are leaving and abandoning this occult-like religion called Islam.”

“Many of them are converting to Christianity. It’s a beautiful thing that is happening and our ministry, for sure, is part of it,” Faridi said.

He also shared some of the insights that can be found in his book, “Forsaking My Father’s Religion” published by Iranian Christians International.

Muslims, Democrats, and an important message for Minnesotans

However, given the rampant fraud that appears to have all but taken over Minnesota and its state government, Faridi shared another kind of message—one that seems quite timely and relevant for Minnesotans.

“The goal of Islam is to bind itself with leftism, with the Democratic Party,” Faridi said.

He explained how this “unholy alliance causes … crime to go up. And when that happens—the godly patriots, the Americans, the family-loving, the small business owners—they tend to leave those areas such as Minneapolis, such as St. Cloud …”

“Then you have the more of a public housing dependency on the government, which tend to vote for the Democrats,” Faridi said. “That is their playbook. They have been doing it for centuries.”

Nevertheless, Faridi has hope: “The more people have access to the Quran, to the doctrine of Islam, to the biography of the self-diagnosed prophet of Islam, Muhammad, when they’re reading, when Muslims are reading that, they start doubting Islam as being divine.”
