The city of Minneapolis has been preparing for the trial of ex-police officer Derek Chauvin by boarding up buildings and installing more than $600,000 worth of added security measures.
The downtown Minneapolis Hennepin County Government Center is surrounded by layers of extra fencing and concrete barricades.
Other buildings near the courthouse, including Minneapolis City Hall, are boarded up as well, prepping for potential unrest before the trial kicks off Monday.
