Kaufman: Racist Left out in full force last week

Marxism has long focused on class grievance, but many left-wing elites now embrace overt racial grievance. Last week alone was a stark example, as journalists, educators and doctors insisted that skin color be a chief element of public policy going forward.

Dr. Harald Schmidt, an ethics and health policy “expert” at the University of Pennsylvania, claimed the elderly should not be the first to receive COVID-19 vaccines because “Older populations are whiter” and “Society is structured in a way that enables them to live longer. Instead of giving additional health benefits to those who already had more of them, we can start to level the playing field a bit.”

Four in five deaths from COVID-19 this year are among those over 65

“Level the playing field” is eugenics at its worst. Schmidt wants people to die because of the color of their skin? And what about elderly blacks, who are dying at high rates?

We’ve been told all year that nothing is more important than protecting the lives of the oldest among us — except for fighting “racism” it now seems.

For radicals like Schmidt, that lockdowns have disproportionately crushed minority-owned businesses probably doesn’t matter.

Racial politics has long been endemic in America’s pitiable public schools — with charter school opposition by teachers unions the most recent — though not the kind liberals believe.

Late last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio recently announced big changes to the way top New York City public schools consider applicants. He and other bureaucratic morons believe this will “desegregate” schools. Essentially, admissions will focus less on grades and more on skin tone, because educrats believe we don’t do enough to help “black and brown” students achieve.

But if “White privilege” is responsible for achievement gaps, how do we explain the long-enduring success of Asian students? They will now bear the brunt of these misguided edicts and condescending bigotry.

Lastly, two millennial writers engaged in partisan activism masking as journalism by suggesting reporting on crime is racist.  The geniuses say “defund the crime beat”, i.e. do not report on crime. This baseless idea would, of course, create lasting harm for the communities they pretend to care about.

Yes, murder victims are disproportionately black and brown; but they’re killed by one another, not police. Discussing facts, however, makes Democrats from the Nieman Lab uncomfortable. Indeed, they would rather indulge fantasies about “defunding the police” than save lives in minority communities.

If reporters ignore crimes in minority areas, more people “of color” will lose their lives. That is the dangerous price we have to pay for white guilt liberals to feel good about themselves.

The aforementioned examples of regressive bigotry stem mainly from the inane concept of “critical race theory,” an undeniably racist view purveyed by dishonest zealots like Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, who make a ton of money brainwashing Corporate America, government employees and academia.

The bottom line is simple: No one should call for people to be treated differently solely on the basis of the color of their skin. That’s true racism. I get it, and you get it, but our ruling class is struggling.
