Even though Senator Amy Klobuchar promised to serve her full term, she admitted that she is getting close to announcing her decision on running for President.
If Klobuchar chooses to run, she will have the endorsement of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. When asked by Minnesota Public Radio about the possible Presidential campaign, Walz responded “If Senator Klobuchar chooses to go, I’m with her,”
If Amy Klobuchar does become President or if she chooses to resign then Tim Walz would get to appoint her replacement.
Since announcing his run for Governor, Tim Walz has begun appointing far-left metro politicians to the position of power including his Lt. Governor.
Amy Klobuchar will have to compete with the new liberal wing including Senator Elizabeth Warren for the nomination and will have to prove her liberal credentials in order to win the Democrat primary.
Minnesota Public Radio reports that Walz is not discouraging other liberal politicians from joining the large Democratic presidential primary but thinks Amy Klobuchar has a large chance to win.
“It’s in our best interest to have multiple choices out there, but I would argue that as more Americans get to know Amy Klobuchar, she’ll prove to be the person that they may want to get with,” Walz said.
