Republican Tyler Kistner has been endorsed by President Donald Trump in his run for U.S. Congress.
The president made the announcement on Friday via Twitter, saying Kistner will be an “incredible Congressman for Minnesota.” Kistner, a nine-year Marine veteran, is running to represent Minnesota’s Second Congressional District.
“I am honored to have the support of President Trump. Working together, we will restore our way of life, bring safety and security to our communities, continue to rebuild the greatest economy in history, and renew the American dream. This is the latest evidence that Minnesota’s 2nd District is a top pickup for Republicans across the country to take back the House,” said Kistner.
In his endorsement, President Trump cited Kistner’s support of the America First agenda, and the candidate’s strong stances on law enforcement, national security, and the economy.

Kistner now has the endorsements of President Trump, the Minnesota GOP, and the National Right to Life Committee, and has earned the NRCC’s most competitive rank of “Young Gun.”
Kistner has spent the last week on a 100-mile run through his district to garner support from families and small businesses. While he was running with his constituents, Kistner released his first TV spot called “This is the Land.”
“I’m running for Congress to help out the small businesses, and fight for the families, and make sure that we’re driving towards greater prosperity to rebuild this economy and make sure we’re always putting Americans first,” Kistner recently said.
He is running against Rep. Angie Craig, who is in her first term.
