A White Bear Lake man with a history of drug and theft convictions has been charged in the burglary of a Ramsey gun store late last month.
Raymond William Kidd, 31, has been charged with one count of felony first-degree burglary related to the case.

Charges filed in Anoka County on Thursday state that video surveillance showed that two men broke the front door glass of Total Defense Gun Shop in Ramsey, MN, just after 5 a.m. on Sunday March 29 and proceeded to steal guns from inside the business.
Facebook photos posted by the gun shop following the burglary showed a gun display case with smashed glass, and the post stated that the guns that were stolen were part of their rental gun program.
The criminal complaint states that a stolen U-Haul truck was subsequently located nearby and that three of the nine handguns reported to be stolen were found inside. A shoe impression was also located by law enforcement near the U-Haul.
Kidd was arrested on April 8 on an unrelated charge, the complaint said. Corresponding Anoka County booking records show that Kidd was arrested on that date on probable cause third-degree burglary, several warrants including auto theft and other theft – all felonies, and gross misdemeanor false information to police.
The complaint stated that at the time of Kidd’s arrest he was wearing two-tone shoes that matched the shoes observed on one of the suspects in the surveillance video. The tread pattern on Kidd’s shoes was examined and was determined to be an exact match to the print found near the U-Haul vehicle. A jacket was also found in the vehicle Kidd was driving that appeared to be the exact same jacket one of the suspects was wearing in during the gun store burglary, the complaint said.
Inside Kidd’s vehicle, officers also found a sales tag belonging to a firearm stolen from a store in an Edina burglary on April 7. Video surveillance from the Edina burglary showed a suspect matching Kidd’s description breaking the front door glass and taking multiple firearms. A post Tuesday morning by a scanner incident page on Facebook reported about a burglary in Edina where firearms had been taken. Confirmation from Hennepin County on whether that was the burglary referenced in the Anoka County complaint was not immediately available.
Kidd had been wanted on a felony warrant for auto theft in Anoka County since February when he failed to appear for a hearing in the pending case that was originally charged in March 2019. Kidd has two prior felony convictions for controlled substance, and five convictions for theft.
Kidd remains in custody on $20,000 bail and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on the new charge on May 6.
