A shocking video clip was supplied to Crime Watch Minneapolis showing part of an incident that took place early Sunday morning at a Northeast Minneapolis gas station.

Crime Watch reported just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, April 30, that police had been dispatched to a gas station at 620 Central Avenue Northeast on a report that occupants from several vehicles were at the pumps throwing fireworks at the business and at each other, according to dispatch audio. One person was reported to be burned, but no further information was immediately aired on the extent of the injuries or whether the injured party was a participant or bystander.

An officer arrived at the station within a few minutes and aired that vehicles were leaving the location in different directions. Based on the dispatch audio, there was no indication that the officer made an attempt to stop any of the vehicles, and no license plate information was aired at the time. Within five minutes, the officer was dispatched to another incident and nothing further was aired about the gas station activity at that time.

Online information suggests that the gas station closes at 10 p.m. daily. The dispatcher indicated that the information had come to 911 through a security company.

At 2:46 a.m., a different squad was dispatched back to the gas station along with the Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) for a report of a gasoline spill on the ground, which the dispatcher said was related to the prior incident involving the people who were throwing fireworks at the pumps.

MFD aired after arriving that they had taped off the area which measured about 8×20 ft and were letting the gasoline evaporate.

Crime Watch subsequently obtained a short video clip which was reported to be from the incident and had originally been posted on Snapchat. The video setting can be visually identified as the Holiday station on Central Avenue. The clip shows several people and vehicles around the pumps. Some appear to be recording with phones in their hands while one male sprays gas from the pump across the ground and into a trash container as the others laugh and shout.

Crime Watch also received information on Sunday from a person who claimed to have been robbed of their wallet, phone, credit cards, and shoes in Dinkytown by the same group just prior to the gas station incident. There had been a report of a fight and possible person with a gun in Dinkytown about an hour prior to the gas station incident, but information was not able to be immediately obtained from the Minneapolis Police Department on whether any of the incidents were related.

Alpha News will continue to track any developments in this story.
